The latest in Sony’s popular and tech-leading a7-series full-frame mirrorless cameras was introduced today: the a7 III. It features a new 24.2-megapixel back-illuminated sensor which Sony states provides 15 stops of dynamic range, comparable to the a7R III introduced last fall. It also shares the same capture rate as the a7R III, with continuous shooting up to 10 fps with either the electronic or mechanical shutter, and comparing ISO range, the a7 III actually beats the a7R III, with a standard range of 100-51,200, expandable to 50-204,800, compared to the a7R III’s standard range of 100-32,000 and expanded range of 50-102,400.
